UBB is seeking a talented and dynamic Business Analyst to join our IT Delivery team
Requirements:
Professional Experience & Domain Expertise
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within banking, payments, financial services, or regulatory environments
- Proven experience working on regulatory, compliance, or risk‑driven initiatives (e.g. PSD2/PSD3, AML, KYC, SEPA, ISO 20022, data protection, reporting obligations)
- Strong background in requirements elicitation, analysis, validation, and management across complex enterprise systems
- Solid understanding of end‑to‑end banking and payment processes, system integrations, and data flows
- Proven ability to prepare and maintain business, functional, and system mappings
- Ability to clearly document business rules, assumptions, dependencies, and data logic
- Ability to translate regulatory and business requirements into clear functional and non‑functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Ability to interpret and validate SQL outputs for business and regulatory purposes
- Experience reviewing and validating API specifications (e.g. OpenAPI / Swagger) from a business perspective
- Experience supporting API testing activities using tools such as Postman or similar
- Experience collaborating with business, IT, compliance, legal, risk, and operations stakeholders
- Strong knowledge of Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and/or Waterfall delivery models
- Excellent analytical thinking, attention to detail, and structured problem‑solving skills
- Strong communication, facilitation, and documentation abilities
- Ability to work independently, take full ownership of analysis streams, and manage competing priorities
- Fluent English, written and spoken
- University degree in Business, Economics, Finance, IT, Engineering, or a related field
Nice to Have
- Hands‑on experience with payments platforms, transaction processing, or clearing and settlement systems
- Familiarity with core banking systems, digital channels, or regulatory reporting platforms
- Experience in highly regulated banking environments or large‑scale transformation programmes
- Knowledge of process modeling standards (BPMN, UML) and business architecture concepts
- Certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, PMI‑PBA, or Agile BA certifications
- Exposure to audit processes, regulatory inspections, or compliance reviews
Responsibilities
Regulatory & Business Analysis
- Lead the end‑to‑end business analysis activities for banking, payments, or regulatory initiatives
- Analyze regulatory texts and compliance requirements and transform them into clear, actionable system and process requirements
- Elicit, document, and manage business, functional, and non‑functional requirements, ensuring traceability to regulatory or business drivers
- Ensure requirements are complete, consistent, auditable, and aligned with regulatory obligations and internal policies
Mapping Preparation & Documentation
- Prepare and maintain business and functional mappings, including:
Regulatory‑to‑business requirement mappings
Business‑to‑system and system‑to‑system mappings
High‑level source‑to‑target data mappings for payments, reporting, and compliance use cases
- Document mapping logic, business rules, assumptions, and dependencies in a clear and auditable manner
- Review and validate mappings with business owners, compliance, and technical teams
- Ensure mappings are kept up to date throughout delivery and reflect approved scope changes
- Support development and testing teams by clarifying mapping intent and expected outcomes
Data Analysis & SQL (Interpretation‑Only)
- Support data analysis activities using basic SQL interpretation and validation, including:
Reviewing SQL scripts prepared by developers or data teams
Validating that data logic aligns with documented business rules and mappings
Interpreting query results to confirm business expectations
- Participate in data validation and reconciliation discussions during testing phases
Raise gaps or inconsistencies between business requirements, mappings, and data outputs - Ensure data‑related assumptions are clearly documented for audit and compliance purposes
API Analysis & Testing Support
- Participate in API analysis and functional testing from a business perspective
- Review API specifications (e.g. OpenAPI/Swagger) to ensure alignment with business and regulatory requirements
- Define and execute business‑level API test scenarios, including:
Request/response validation
Field‑level data correctness
Error handling and negative scenarios
- Support testing activities using tools such as Postman or similar, focusing on business correctness rather than technical performance
- Collaborate with developers and QA to analyze API‑related defects and clarify expected behavior
Stakeholder & Delivery Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Solution Architects, Developers, QA, throughout the delivery lifecycle
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including scenario definition, execution support, defect triage, and validation of regulatory compliance
