Volunteers from UBB took part in the Ecology, Recycling and Art - To the Earth with Love eco-workshop

date

28 July 2025

UBB employees joined the next-in-a-row volunteering initiative in support of an organization, participating in the Bank’s Choose to Help donor programme. On Thursday, 27.07.2025, they participated in an eco-workshop under the following motto - Ecology, Recycling and Art - To the Earth with Love. During a two-hour timespan participants were engaged in making jewellery, wall panels and appliqués, planting flowers and vegetables etc. with the children, pupils at the Centre for Early Development of Children of For Our Children foundation.

The Foundation organizes such workshops on a monthly basis for children with special needs to help them socialize, acquire skills to concentrate and work, communicate with other children, parents, volunteers and social workers from the Centre. The UBB employees were engaged in creative art with their new friends and with a lot of attention, dedication and empathy they communicated with their parents and took advice and enjoyed the mentorship of the daily centre team. On parting they promised to meet their little pupils once again at some of the creative initiative’s next editions.

The volunteer initiative was part of the activities under the Choose to Help donor programme. One of the important peculiarities about the programme is that it does not end with raising and delivering the sums to the relevant organizations but also envisages involvement of employees of the Bank and of the other KBC Group entities in Bulgaria in the realization of projects, where possible.

The 15-th edition of the Choose to Help initiative has raised funds for the realization of 21 projects, as the donor programme sum since its launch up until now has totalled BGN 4 million. Over the next months there will be other volunteer initiatives in support of the financed projects and organizations.

Along with that, the 16-th Choose to Help edition was also launched at the beginning of July with project application deadline being 15.08.2025. More information about the programme and how to apply is available here.
