UBB won recognition as the Best Bank in Bulgaria and the Best Bank in the ESG domain for Y2025 at the annual awards for exceptional achievements Euromoney Awards for Excellence, organized by the high-rated British magazine Euromoney.

The Best Bank in Bulgaria award is the result of the comprehensive performance and impressive results, which UBB has achieved in all business lines, the creation of new products, digitalization and innovations, ESG programmes and Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, as well as the development of the unique for Bulgaria banking and insurance model of KBC Group, with UBB standing at its core and being the main contributor to its success. Assessed indicators comprise total market share in terms of the Bank’s assets of 19.6%; 20.1% in terms of total disbursed loans; 22.4% with regard to disbursed mortgage loans; 19.2% share of consumer loans and others.

In the sustainable development domain over the past year and through the New Investment Loan for Financing under Preferential Terms the Construction of Photovoltaic Installations for Own Needs of SMEs product UBB financed 223 projects worth over BGN 108 million, 23 of which new ones, of value BGN 25 million. Through Funding of Projects for Renewable Energy Sources - the new volumes of financing for such projects have reached BGN 244 million. Through a Mortgage Loan for Energy Efficient Home – a product for energy efficiency-certified properties of A and B class with primary energy consumption up to 150KWh per annum, the Bank finances green real estates worth BGN 160 million, out of which BGN 85 million being mortgage loans for energy-efficient homes with surface exceeding 30 000 sq.m., etc.
