“ESG and the requirements to reporting corporate sustainability (CSRD). Is it a challenge or an opportunity” was the topic of the sequential conference of the 24 Chasa and UBB for a Sustainable Future campaign.
The event was declared open by Dobromir Dobrev, Executive Director Corporate Banking and Markets at UBB, who shared that only with regard to UBB’s corporate customers over 300 companies fell into the CSRD reporting requirement as early as in 2025, which was also indicative of the number of large companies in Bulgaria, for which this was a key topic.
„This represents an essential part of our portfolio, however not only to us, but also to the entire economy. The Bank’s CSRD in-scope customers have assets worth over BGN 100 billion, more than 200 000 employees and BGN 1.3 billion in terms of funding by UBB. That is why this topic is and will continue being important to us” , he emphasized.
During the discussion panel opinions and stances on the topic were provided by the following experts: Ms. Hristina Pendicheva – Financial Markets Regulation Department with the Ministry of Finance, Ms. Evgeniya Kyuchukova – Troanska, IDES and the procurator of Boni Holding, Mr. Tsvetan Iliev.
