The Belgian financial group has made a strategic decision to open a new centre for digital technologies (Digital Development Center) in the Bulgarian seaside capital city. This is the second Center, launched by the Group in Varna, the first being the Shared Service Center, opened in Y2019 and staffed by over 300 employees, thus ranking the Group among the top employers in the region.

The core activity of the new Center will cover a menu of IT projects, supporting the digital transformation of the banking and insurance companies within the KBC Group. The initial plans involve the recruitment of over 100 employees till end-2021 thus opening new career opportunities, largely in the IT sector, with a focus on agile software development, application management, process management, etc.

Mr. Todor Petkov, General Manager of the new Digital Development Center, commented: “This is yet another thrilling step towards the digital transformation within the KBC Group. KBC Digital Development Center will use a common office space with the Shared Service Center in the building of the former Pfohe Mall Varna. In the context of the future development and growth plans, the two KBC Centers have occupied yet another storey of the building, spreading over an office space of 6500 sq.m.
