EUR 101 393 or BGN 198 307 have been raised within the 16th edition of the donorship program of United Bulgarian Bank, entitled „Choose To Help“. These funds have already been transferred to the relevant organizations, and the realization of their projects is now underway. The programme applicants number a total of 218 projects of non-governmental organizations, universities, schools, community centres and institutions, which registers a record for the „Choose To Help“ initiative. Organizations have applied in the four established categories – „Healthcare“, „Social Environment“, „Culture and Education“ and „Ecology“.

After a meticulous assessment, made by the Bulgarian Donor Forum - partner to the programme - 20 projects were admitted to the fund-raising phase, involving donations from both UBB employees, and from individuals over the last two months of 2025.

It is a distinctive feature of the Choose To Help programme that UBB encourages and supports donorship among its employees, by adding the sum of EUR 51.13 to a donation of EUR 5.11 or more under a project; EUR 25.56 to a donation from EUR 2.56 up to EUR 5.11 under a project; EUR 10.23 to a donation of EUR 0.51 up to EUR 2.55 under a project. Thus, after the end of the active fund-raising phase and processing the data from the donations made, the total raised amount has reached EUR 101 393. After finalizing the contract signing procedure the funds have now been transferred to the relevant organizations and the implementation of their projects is already underway.

With the funds raised through the current campaign the sum total of funds, donated to finance various causes during the years have reached EUR 2.15 million, while the total number of supported projects exceeds 340. Choose To Help has been gaining popularity as one of the most recognizable donorship campaigns in Bulgaria. In 2026 it was awarded a special diploma for „Succession and Sustainability in Regular Donorship Programmes at the Workplace“ at the „Responsible Company – Responsible Employees“ awards of the BCause Foundation in support of charity initiatives in Bulgaria.

The 16th edition of the Choose To Help programme also has a continuation in terms of 20 projects, which realization requires less funds. It was especially for them that UBB placed donation boxes in its more than 170 branches throughout the country. Thus, the Bank is going to raise funds from all who are willing to help, by the end of June 2026.

The 17th edition of the UBB donorship programme will be launched with a call for projects in July 2026.
