UBB gave its special award for art contribution to Zhivko Petrov

The composer was honoured by the Bank during the official opening of the 30thanniversary edition of Apollonia Festival of Arts
UBB gave its special award for art contribution to the composer and pianist Zhivko Petrov. The already traditional recognition was awarded during the official opening of the 30th anniversary edition of Apollonia Festival of Arts in Sozopol town on August 28th 2014.
UBB’s special prize has been given to an artist of merits, who has contributed to the development of arts and culture in Bulgaria. Past honorees include the jazz musician Antoni Donchev, the director Kamen Kalev, the singer Beloslava, the actor Kamen Donev, etc. The award was presented by Ms. Anka Kostova, Manager of United Bulgarian Bank‘s PR and Sponsorship Unit.
„It is our utmost pleasure to give the award to Zhivko Petrov – an artist who has proven with his works and creative partnerships that art has no limits and that success is a culmination of joined efforts. We’re glad that our prize goes to him exactly in Y2014 when we commemorate the 20-year partnership between UBB and Apollonia in support of arts“, Anka Kostova said.
UBB gives the award as a general sponsor of Apollonia Festival of Arts. The bank has been a promoter of the festival for 20 years already as part of its policy for constant support of arts and culture in Bulgaria.
A day after the opening– on August 29th at 11 P.M. the renovated Apollonia Club / UBB Scene kicks off at St. Kirik and Yulita island in the old part of Sozopol town with a performance by Beloslava. The program will be a delight for the music fans also with concerts of Acoustic Version, KOKA MASS JAZZ, the virtuoso Thedosii Spassov, Kameliya Todorova, the DURTY PURCHASE band, the attractive SENTIMENTAL SWINGERS and many others.
During the Festival UBB organizes once again the workshop “Photography for the Little Ones” – a two-day photography training for children and their parents. Within two days– August 30th and 31st 2014 enthusiasts with cameras will be able to learn the intricacies of taking snapshots from the photographer and creator of the workshop Alberto Staykov. The courses will be held at Sozopol’s Town Garden.
Apollonia’s anniversary edition – one of the oldest cultural events in this country - has a rich schedule to offer, one that equally contains novelties and traditions to channelize some energy and positive spirit in Bulgarian art fans – an initiative proudly supported by UBB for two decades by now.
