The Banker has named Raiffeisenbank Bank of the Year 2018 in Bulgaria. The bank wins the award for third time in a row and for sixth time overall.
"For third consecutive year we get an acknowledgement by one of the most prestigious financial magazines in the world. The recipe for our bank’s success includes both traditional ingredients like smart growth, efficiency and healthy portfolio and ingredients from the 21st century related to the digital transformation. Our goal is to be a customer oriented, innovative and efficient bank”, said Oliver Roegl, CEO of Raiffeisenbank (Bulgaria).
Raiffeisen Bank International AG (RBI) has been named "Bank of the Year in Central and Eastern Europe" by The Banker for the eleventh time. In addition, RBI received the accolade "Bank of the Year 2018" for Austria as well as RBI’s subsidiary banks in Slovakia and Ukraine for their respective countries. The renowned magazine of the Financial Times presented the awards at a gala ceremony in London.
“The newly restructured, streamlined RBI says that its core task is the customer. A measure of success in addressing that task is being named Bank of the Year for 2018 in four countries of the [Central and Eastern European] region – Austria, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Ukraine”, explained The Banker in its December issue why RBI was selected as winner for the region, adding improved overall capitalization and efficiency, reduced complexity, sharpened focus on Central and Eastern Europe, higher profitability, falling risk costs and a number of technological firsts as further reasons.
