Warning of a new type of telephone fraud
25 October 2021
Dear clients,
We would like to inform you about a new type of telephone fraud, involving calls from persons, pretending to be UBB employees and demanding provision of sensitive info from our clients as regards the access to their online banking, their personal accounts or bank cards.
Fraudsters most often assure clients that they have information about unauthorized access to the clients’ accounts via the electronic or mobile banking functionality of UBB and offer various solutions: require confirmation of non-existent transactions (with cards or ordered fund transfers), offer insurance policies against cyber frauds or give instructions for installing of suspicious applications for mobile device protection.
The ultimate goal of all those actions is that you, being in a state of anxiety, would yourself share confidential data of yours (user names, passwords for access, verification codes, details of credit / debit cards or other sensitive information and data ) or would mislead you to make a payment to an account of theirs.
We do assure you that UBB never requires provision of such data over the phone or by email! Please, be vigilant and should you receive a suspicious phone call, contact us immediately at the following telephone numbers: 0700 117 17 or *7171.
