UBB starts offering Google Pay to its clients

05 August 2021
United Bulgarian Bank, part of the Belgium financial group KBC, is among the first financial institutions in Bulgaria, which provide its clients with the possibility to have their debit and credit Mastercard®-branded cards, issued by the Bank, digitalized through the Google Pay service. Thus clients who use smartphones may effect contactless payments at POS terminals at commercial sites, make purchases in applications or pay by card at online merchants, which accept Google Pay, as well as withdraw cash at ATMs in a contactless manner.
Google Pay is a digital wallet and one of the most well-known payment systems worldwide. This service allows you to effect quick and easy contactless payments at stores, in applications and on the Internet.
Adding a card in Google Pay takes only several minutes. For this purpose the client should have downloaded the UBB Mobile app and then use it to add his/her Mastercard®-branded card to Google Pay. The information about the added cards is stored in a secure manner and is not shared with the merchants.
In order to effect a payment, the client only needs to unlock his/her smartphone (supporting NFC functionality) and approach it to the contactless reader of the POS device. The service is available at any place, marked with the Google Pay or with the contactless payment symbol.
The new contactless solution is innovative and secure. With Google Pay clients do not need to dispose of cash and bank cards, or touch surfaces as PIN pads and touch screens, hence in the persisting epidemic environment is becoming a payment method, preferred by an increasing number of users.
